EL PEP AYUDA A INTERNOS DE LA CÁRCEL MODELO DE BARRANQUILLA A REEVALUAR SUS VIDAS

THE PEP HELPS THE INMATES OF THE BARRANQUILLA MODELO PRISON TO REEVALUE THEIR LIVES

Durante todo 2016, se presentó el programa en el Establecimiento Carcelario Modelo de Barranquilla. Durante ese periodo, se realizaron tres cursos con una asistencia aproximada de 200 internos, lo cual equivale al 20% de la población carcelaria. En 2017 se realizó un nuevo curso en la misma Cárcel Modelo con un grupo nuevo de aproximadamente 20 reclusos, quienes expresaron su agradecimiento al programa:

Throughout 2016, the program was presented at the Barranquilla Modelo Prison. · “Después del curso me siento tan libre que no sé si estoy dentro o fuera de la cárcel”.

· “Antes del programa mis relaciones familiares eran muy malas. Nadie me visitaba, mi hijo andaba en malos pasos, mi hija perdiendo los estudios y yo me sentía culpable por todo lo que había hecho. A raíz del programa, empecé a compartir con ellos los DVDs y los materiales impresos del curso sobre la paz y ellos empezaron a notar que yo estaba en algo nuevo. Han vuelto a visitarme”.

· "Entendí completamente el mensaje, me di cuenta que él es un embajador de la paz (asistente por primera vez)".

También se llevó el PEP al Establecimiento Carcelario y de Reclusión Especial de Sabanalarga, del 2012 al 2013. Al curso completo asistieron 65 internos.
