EL PEP DEVUELVE LA ESPERANZA A PERSONAS PRIVADAS DE LA LIBERTAD EN BOGOTÁ

THE PEP RETURNS HOPE TO PEOPLE DEPRIVED OF THEIR FREEDOM IN BOGOTÁ

Desde el año 2013, un equipo de voluntarios en Bogotá, Colombia, ha estado ofreciendo y presentando el Programa de Educación para la Paz de la Fundación Prem Rawat en diferentes instituciones administrativas carcelarias, como la Escuela Penitenciaria Nacional, la Oficina Regional Central del INPEC (Instituto Penitenciario Nacional de Colombia) y la Casa Libertad. De esta última, se recibió un reconocimiento por la labor realizada.

Más puntualmente y de manera continua, se presenta el PEP y se dona el libro “Cuando el Desierto Florece”a personas privadas de la libertad en diferentes instituciones carcelarias, como la Reclusión de Mujeres de Bogotá El Buen Pastor, La Picota y la Cárcel de Melgar y también a diferentes grupos en tratamiento como Preparación para la Libertad, Inducción al Tratamiento Penitenciario, Comunidad Terapéutica, Funcionarios Públicos y ERON, con asistencia entre 20 y 60 personas.

Para el año 2019, este equipo de voluntarios busca llevar el PEP a la Cárcel del Distrito y a más entidades educativas.

Since 2013, a team of volunteers in Bogotá, Colombia, has been offering and presenting The Prem Rawat Foundation's Peace Education Program in different prison administrative institutions, such as the National Penitentiary School, the Central Regional Office of INPEC (National Penitentiary Institute of Colombia) and Casa Libertad (Freedom House). From the latter, a recognition was received for the work carried out.

More specifically and continuously, the PEP is presented and the book "When the Desert Blooms" is donated to people deprived of their freedom in different prison institutions, such as Bogotá’s El Buen Pastor Women's Prison, La Picota and the Melgar Prison and also different groups in treatment such as Preparation for Freedom, Induction to Prison Treatment, Therapeutic Community, Public Officials and ERON, with an attendance of from 20 to 60 people.

For the year 2019, this team of volunteers seeks to take the PEP to the District Jail and to more educational entities.
