PEP IN MEDELLÍN AND HUILA PRISONS

EN EL ESTABLECIMIENTO PENITENCIARIO DE MEDIANA SEGURIDAD Y CARCELARIO BELLAVISTA DE MEDELLÍN

Desde diciembre 14 de 2016 hasta noviembre 29 de 2018, 10 voluntarios han venido desarrollando el PEP en dos secciones, así:

En el Pabellón 16 de máxima seguridad, conformado, entre otros, por presos políticos: guerrilleros, paramilitares y policías que han participado del conflicto armado en Colombia. Son aproximadamente 400 internos en el pabellón. La asistencia a cada taller ha sido de 35 participantes en promedio desde diciembre de 2016 hasta noviembre de 2018.

En el Centro Educativo Bellavista, bajo la coordinación del Área Educativa que atiende los demás patios del establecimiento, y coordina diferentes programas educativos, tanto académicos (primaria y bachillerato), como de capacitación no formal (carpintería, panadería, marroquinería, entre otros), a los que ahora se adiciona el Programa de Educación para la Paz (PEP). Allí se realizó un evento de presentación del PEP a profesores, monitores y personas privadas de la libertad, con una asistencia de 40 personas aproximadamente. Se han realizado 4 talleres del PEP 3 con una asistencia promedio de 15 internos, desde el 30 de octubre hasta el 27 de noviembre.

EN EL CENTRO PENITENCIARIO DE RIVERA, HUILA

A finales de 2018, el director d prisión de mediana seguridad, aceptó la propuesta de presentar el PEP a los reclusos de la institución. Se han realizado dos talleres, comenzando con los monitores, quienes multiplicarán el programa en la prisión. El tercer taller se reiniciará el viernes 18 de enero.

AT THE BELLAVISTA MEDIUM SECURITY PRISON AND PENITENTIARY AND JAIL INSTITUTION OF MEDELLÍN

From December 14th, 2016 to November 29th, 2018, 10 volunteers have been developing the PEP in two sections, as follows:

In maximum security Pavilion 16, made up, among others, of political prisoners: guerrillas, paramilitaries and police who have participated in the armed conflict in Colombia. There are approximately 400 inmates in this pavilion. Attendance at each workshop has been 35 participants on average from December, 2016 to November 2018.

At the Bellavista Educational Center, under the coordination of the Educational Area that attends the other courtyards of the institution, and coordinates different educational programs, both academic (elementary and high school), and non-formal training (carpentry, bakery, leather goods, among others), to which the Peace Education Program (PEP) is now added. There, an event was held to present the PEP to teachers, monitors and people deprived of their freedom, with an attendance of approximately 40 people. 4 PEP 3 workshops have been held with an average attendance of 15 inmates, from October 30th to November 27th.

AT THE PENITENTIARY CENTER OF RIVERA, HUILA

At the end of the year 2018, the director of the medium security prison accepted the proposal to present the PEP to the inmates of the institution. Two workshops have been held, beginning with the monitors, who will multiply the program in the prison. The third workshop will restart on Friday, January 18th.
