EL PEP EN UNIHORIZONTE, UNA INSTITUCIÓN QUE TRABAJA PARA QUE SUS ESTUDIANTES SEAN FELICES

THE PEP PRESENTED AT UNIHORIZONTE, AN INSTITUTION THE MISSION OF WHICH IS TO MAKE ITS STUDENTS HAPPY

La Fundación Universitaria Horizonte – Unihorizonte – es una institución de educación superior que ofrece estudios subsidiados a personas de bajos recursos, gracias a acuerdos con diferentes instituciones, entre ellas la NASA. Uno de los objetivos de la universidad es que las personas sean felices a través del cumplimiento de sus sueños, independientemente de las circunstancias socioeconómicas a su alrededor.

La Universidad ha encontrado que el Programa de Educación para la Paz, cuyo propósito es la utilización de los recursos interiores del ser humano como herramientas para su propia paz y felicidad, está completamente sintonizado con los objetivos de la institución, y ha expresado su deseo de estrechar vínculos con la TPRF, fundación creadora del PEP, invitando a uno de sus voluntarios a formar parte del Comité de Bienestar de la Universidad.

Hace 2 años, ya se habían capacitado doce profesores, que han estado utilizando el material del PEP, pero la universidad ha decidido llevarlo a una mayor escala.

En la actualidad, hay 210 personas inscritas en el PEP, y si bien la mayoría de los inscritos son estudiantes, también hay personal administrativo y profesores. Debido al gran número de inscritos, hubo necesidad de abrir tres grupos semanales.

Adicionalmente, la universidad planea incluir el PEP en el evento de bienvenida a los nuevos estudiantes, el 2 de septiembre próximo.

The Horizonte University Foundation - Unihorizonte - provides education to low-income students, in compliance to agreements with different institutions, including NASA. One of the goals of the university is to make their students happy through the fulfillment of their dreams.

The managers of the University have found that the Peace Education Program is in tune with the mission of the institution and have expressed their desire to strengthen ties with the TPRF, the foundation that created the PEP. They have invited one of TPRF's volunteers to be part of the University's Welfare Committee.

Twelve teachers were trained two years ago and they have been facilitating the PEP. Now, the university has decided to scale it up.

Currently, there are 210 people enrolled in the PEP. Although the majority of them are students, there are also some of the administrative staff and teachers included as well. Due to the large number of registrations for the workshops, it was necessary to open three weekly groups.

Additionally, the university plans to include the PEP in the welcoming event for the new students, on September 2nd.
