EL PEP EN LAS ESCUELAS DEL DEPARTAMENTO DEL ATLÁNTICO

THE PEP IN THE SCHOOLS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ATLANTICO

En febrero de 2018, el Secretario de Educación de la Gobernación del Atlántico y la

Presidenta de la Fundación TPRF, Daya Rawat, firmaron un acuerdo de voluntades

para llevar a cabo el Programa de Educación para la Paz en las escuelas públicas del Departamento.

Durante el segundo semestre de 2018, voluntarios de la Fundación Prem Rawat (TPRF) capacitaron a 5 líderes de la Secretaría de Educación y a 80 profesores del Departamento con el fin de que ellos presentaran el programa a sus estudiantes. Terminadas las capacitaciones, los profesores expresaron su entusiasmo, agradecimiento y motivación para iniciar los talleres.

Al finalizar 2018, se habían implementado más de 60 cursos del PEP en cerca de 70 escuelas rurales del Departamento. Para 2019, se planea capacitar a profesores de otras 30 escuelas y a 100 personeros estudiantiles (2 por cada escuela).

Adicionalmente, en Barranquilla, voluntarios de la Fundación realizaron un curso piloto del PEP para 100 estudiantes de la Armada Nacional.

In February 2018, the Secretary of Education of the Government of Atlántico and the

President of the TPRF Foundation, Daya Rawat, signed an agreement of wills

to carry out the Education for Peace Program in the public schools of the Department.

During the second semester of 2018, volunteers from the Prem Rawat Foundation (TPRF) trained 5 leaders from the Ministry of Education and 80 teachers from the Department in order for them to present the program to their students. After the training, the teachers expressed their enthusiasm, gratitude and motivation to start the workshops.

By the end of 2018, more than 60 PYP courses had been implemented in about 70 rural schools in the Department. By 2019, it is planned to train teachers from another 30 schools and 100 student representatives (2 for each school).

Additionally, in Barranquilla, Foundation volunteers conducted a pilot PEP course for 100 students from the National Navy.
